The Longcroft Soaperie was founded in the summer of 2002 with a simple mission: To produce the hand-made soaps we wanted, just the way we wanted them. No one else was doing it, so we went ahead and did it ourselves.

Since then, we’ve grown, becoming one of the UK’s fastest-rising soap companies, with an enviable reputation for making unique hand-made goodies. Our reputation is built on quality and attention to detail – and that all comes from the products. You won’t find anything like them anywhere else, because we make each and every one of them ourselves. The reason our soaps are so good is simple: because we love them, and we love making them. You’ll love them too.

You don’t make the best without buying the best, so we’re very particular about our ingredients. We use the finest and freshest of everything. We also avoid preservatives, which is why all of our products have a ‘best before’ date. But we trust you’ll enjoy them so much that they’ll be gone well before … and then you can buy some more, or try something new you’ll like just as much.

We want you to enjoy our goodies. And we think it’s even better if you can enjoy them with a clean conscience. So we source as many local ingredients as possible and we avoid palm oil. We're also against animal testing. We won’t use any raw ingredients bought from anyone who tests on animals.

You won’t find any animal fats (like lard, tallow, and lanolin) in our products. In fact, the only living creatures who’ve helped us make our products are those ever-helpful plants; the bees (looked after by a local beekeeper) who give us our beeswax and honey; and the very happy sheep who kindly help out with the milk.

The Longcroft Soaperie would like to thank the World Land Trust for helping us offset our carbon dioxide emissions in order to become a carbon-balanced business.

We work hard to make everything we produce as good as it can be … and then some. Why? Because it’s fabulous and fun – just like our soaps.
